[Maastricht | woensdag 10 december 2025] Die Grenze verplaatst zijn Maastrichtse winkel naar een nieuwe locatie aan de Tongerseweg 57. De winkel opent op donderdag 18 december om 09:00 uur officieel de deuren. Om de opening te vieren, ontvangen de eerste 80 klanten een gratis, goedgevulde boodschappentas.
Met de verhuizing speelt voordeelketen Die Grenze in op de vraag naar het brede assortiment A-merkproducten tegen blijvend lage prijzen. De nieuwe locatie biedt een overzichtelijke indeling, een logische routing door de winkel en de mogelijkheid om eenvoudig dichtbij te parkeren, zodat winkelen nog makkelijker wordt voor klanten.
"Met de nieuwe indeling en de extra parkeermogelijkheden wordt winkelen bij Die Grenze nog gemakkelijker", zegt Bert Hesselink. "Je kunt snel je boodschappen doen, alles vinden wat je nodig hebt en daarna zonder gedoe weer naar huis".
De feestelijke opening begint om 09:00 uur. Bewoners uit Maastricht en omgeving zijn van harte welkom om de nieuwe winkel als eerste te ontdekken, kennis te maken met het team en te profiteren van de speciale openingsactie.

With the move, discount chain Die Grenze is responding to the demand for a wide range of A-brand products at consistently low prices. The new location offers a clear layout, logical routing through the store, and easy parking nearby, making shopping even easier for customers.

The festive opening starts at 9 a.m. Residents of Maastricht and the surrounding area are welcome to be the first to discover the new store, meet the team, and take advantage of the special opening promotion.
Die Grenze komt naar winkelcentrum Carré
[Maastricht | woensdag 19 november 2025] Die Grenze (officieel Die Grenze Medikamente) opent een nieuwe vestiging in winkelcentrum Carré aan de Tongerseweg in Maastricht. Tot voor kort was de discount drugstore gevestigd in het Mosae Forum in het centrum. De verhuizing zorgt ervoor dat na een langdurige leegstand, na het vertrek van Bristol, weer een nieuwe winkelformule aan het winkelcentrum wordt toegevoegd, met een oppervlakte van meer dan 1000 m².
De komst van Die Grenze betekent concurrentie voor de huidige formules in Carré, waaronder Albert Heijn, Action en Trekpleister. De kringloopwinkel in het souterrain valt hier niet onder.
Die Grenze biedt drogisterijartikelen aan, wat overlap heeft met Trekpleister. Daarnaast verkoopt de discounter sterk afgeprijsde producten zoals wasmiddelen, snoep, huisdiervoeding en seizoens- en actieartikelen, waardoor er ook concurrentie ontstaat met Action. De verkoop van voedingsmiddelen zorgt voor een gedeeltelijke overlap met Albert Heijn.
Voor consumenten in de nabijgelegen wijk Mariaberg betekent de komst van Die Grenze meer keuzemogelijkheden. Door de nabijheid kunnen ze nu vaker naar deze winkel gaan, met de mogelijkheid om producten met beperkte houdbaarheid te kiezen, wat voordelig kan zijn voor hun portemonnee.
Het blijft onduidelijk of de bestaande winkelformules in Carré in de toekomst hun huurovereenkomst willen verlengen, gezien de uitdagingen die de komst van Die Grenze met zich meebrengt.

Die Grenze coming to shopping center Carré
[Maastricht | Wednesday, November 19, 2025] Die Grenze (officially Die Grenze Medikamente) is opening a new location in shopping center Carré on Tongerseweg in Maastricht. Until recently, the discount drugstore was located downtown Mosae Forum. This move will add a new retail concept to the shopping center after a prolonged vacancy following the departure of Bristol, with a footprint of over 1,000 m².
The arrival of Die Grenze will mean increased competition for the existing stores in Carré, including Albert Heijn, Action, and Trekpleister. The thrift store in the basement is not included in this competition.
Die Grenze offers drugstore products, which overlaps with Trekpleister. Additionally, the discounter sells heavily discounted items such as detergents, candy, pet supplies, and seasonal and promotional products, creating competition with Action as well. The sale of food items also results in some overlap with Albert Heijn.
For consumers in the nearby Mariaberg neighborhood, Die Grenze’s arrival means more choices. Due to its proximity, they can now shop there more frequently, allowing them to select products with limited shelf life, which can be beneficial for their wallets.
It remains unclear whether the existing retail concepts in Carré will choose to renew their leases in the future, given the challenges posed by the arrival of Die Grenze.
