De wijk Mariaberg (bestaande uit de deelbuurten Blauwdorp, het 'eigenlijke' Mariaberg en Trichterveld) beschikt over een enthousiast team van vrijwilligers die samen aan buurtpreventie doen. Zij houden de wijk veilig en melden verdachte situaties aan de hulpdiensten. Zij vormen de extra ogen en oren in de wijk waar een grote behoefte aan is.
Op die manier hopen zij onveilige en ongewenste situaties terug te dringen en de leefbaarheid in de buurt te vergroten. Buurtpreventie Mariaberg beschikt over een eigen website waar je terecht kunt voor meer informatie. Je kunt je er ook aanmelden voor de groepsapp of aan de slag als lid van het buurtpreventieteam. Buurtpreventie Mariaberg is erkend door de gemeente Maastricht.

The neighborhood of Mariaberg (consisting of the sub-districts of Blauwdorp, Trichterveld and the 'actual' Mariaberg neighborhood) has an enthusiastic team of volunteers who work together for a safe(r) neighborhood. They report suspicious situations to the emergency services and are the extra eyes and ears in the neighborhood for which there is a great need.
In doing so, they hope to reduce unsafe and unwanted situations and increase the quality of life in the neighborhood. Buurtpreventie Mariaberg has its own website where you can find more information. You can also sign up for the joint WhatsApp group or get started as a member of the Neighborhood Watch. Buurtpreventie Mariaberg is offically recognized by the municipality of Maastricht.
